About John DeMarchi

John DeMarchiWelcome to my ‘Head of School’ Blog!

My blog is  ever-growing and contains reflections, photos, articles, remarks and videos that  may be relevant  to Evergreen School, the wider Montessori community and beyond. Anyone interested in early childhood education will find something though provoking here.

A little about me: I am the Head of School at Evergreen School in Silver Spring, MD.  Previously, I served as Associate Head of School at The Woods Academy in Bethesda, MD from 2001-2011. Before Woods, I was  Middle School Coordinator at Concordia International School Shanghai.  I have also been a middle school teacher at Cincinnati Country Day School and Hong Kong International Day School.

I live in Bethesda and am proud of my two energetic children and wonderful wife. My interests include reading, biking, art and current events.

I hope you enjoy my musing and feel inclined to respond, post and interact.  Comments are welcome, so type away…

Regards, John

Hi John! Thanks so much for visiting my blog and for letting me know about yours. It is a great and enjoyable reading! We are discovering the Montessori school environment this year for the first time (Primary 2nd year) after a Traditional preschool year. I’ll be coming forward to more learning. Thank you Maria

Thanks for sharing your experiences in your blog. I just want to tell how much we all like the School as I have noticed Ezana becoming happier than before despite being only three days. I thought he would be a little sad because he liked his previous school. But no sign of that at all. And he is adjusting very well. I want to give the credit to all of you guys including Albert,Mrs Conn and Ana.
Thank you guys for being patient as well.
